Making Flower Crowns with Mother
Kitty – Girl with a Flower Crown

“We do not record flowers,” said the geographer.

“Why is that? The flower is the most beautiful thing on my planet!”

“We do not record them,” said the geographer, “because they are ephemeral.”

“What does that mean–‘ephemeral’?”

The Little Prince

One of my favorite Spring and Summer activities is tying clover flowers together to make fresh flower crowns! Of course, Kitty doesn’t share in my excitement. She tolerated her accessory for only a few minutes. The flowers are ephemeral, even more so without water. As much fun as it is to make flower crowns, it’s also very sad to see their petals turn brown.
