Days with friends are so special;
they leave memories to last a lifetime.
Saying ‘yes’ time and again
opens one’s mind to new adventures;
and with new people,
the same adventures seem new again.
Who will you say ‘yes’ to this week?

I went out with work friends today; it was refreshing; here’s Maw-Maw’s pumpkins to spread my fall mood

The winds have cooled,
and it has awoken my fall spirit
with a scent of maple.

With chilly weather I am fickle,
for I can only stay outside a minute
before longing for warm cuddles.

There is no better time to giggle
and sip cocoa with your favorite
friends, all in the mood to mingle.

Sweaters are perfect to bundle
up in, listening to crickets,
warming by the fire in a huddle.

Campfire breakfast sits dribbled
on my jacket
because my teeth chatter something terrible.

This early morning, beautiful,
covered in a dewy mist I won’t ever forget,
rose with a gift, donned with birdsong and water ripples:
quiet.

stay warm, one way or another

The sun and fall breeze
left with the weekend’s ease.
It was a busy few days,
but it seems the way
Octobers go,
each weekend will be as so.
Party here and festival there,
finally Halloween, and we’re
halfway through fall when
we just waited for it to begin!
Enjoy this season in every
way–each autumn memory.

Dancing in kimono,
clothing and tea ceremonies,
martial arts,
delicate watercolor and intricate paper crafts—
the Japanese people have such a colorful,
and very symbolic,
culture.
We learned how to dress in kimono
and listened to giant drums with heads of hide.
It was a long journey there,
but such a worthwhile experience.
It is enriching to the spirit
to appreciate the positive culture
of countries worldwide.
One day I will go and appreciate their
beautiful, nature-centered culture in person.

Autumn weather has arrived!
Cool breezes lift my hair from
my shoulders and
lift my feet from the ground,
making me want to dance on their gusts.
Tomorrow brings promises
of joy, appreciation of culture, and
hopefully tasty international cuisine.
Autumn weekends always seem to
free my spirit.

I tried my hand at Oogie Boogie from that one Tim Burton movie
