Sometimes when we do nice
things for those who don’t think twice,
it opens up their minds
and they realize it’s kind,
that they should listen to our friendly advice.

Dinner with a friend:
smoothies, dating, home-owning,
Our laughs were endless.

October passes too quickly,
like a friend who visits and
must leave again.
Can we slow its pace?
Enjoy one more sunny day
that doesn’t make us perspire?
Eat squashes and maple syrup,
carve pumpkins and visit festivals?

perfect day with my team and no work woes.

We long for chilly days,
and forget those who need
the sunny warmth;
the cold will chase our scaled friends
into hibernation–
at least until the next heat wave.
Frogs and lizards will be sparse;
and snakes are more than welcome
to stay hidden of course.
Look down,
watch your step,
there might be a little guy
who’s too slow to escape your shoe!
