Introduction
A new writing challenge appeared in my Inbox this morning, and it sounded so intriguing and worthwhile that I just had to join in. The 31 Days of Five-Minute Free Writes challenge is hosted by Christina Hubbard on her inspiring blog, Creative and Free. Thanks for so much beauty and inspiration, Christina! (You can sign up for her newsletter to get more information about this challenge as well as weekly “smatterings” to engage your mind and soul through this link to her blog!)
October is my favorite month (and practically season) of the year. Autumn is so short here in Louisiana, so we usually go straight from sultry summer into frigid winter. Our fall is the 4 weeks of heavenly October, if we are lucky. Most of the time, the weather is still mostly warm. This week is the first week that the summer heat has finally waned, and I can stand to be outside without breaking a sweat.
Every day in October, I will be writing a small piece that will only take me five minutes. Those participating can either write with their own inspiration, or follow a suggested word for each day. You can find those words here.
I am incredibly excited—and already steeping some brain babies—for the next few days. I feel so thankful to honor October and its wonderful fall-ness with words from my heart. Well, the words my heart can come up with in five minutes! Thank you for joining me on this journey, and I hope I can inspire you to join as well. Who cares if you missed out on the first 10 days, 20 days? Write whenever and however long you want! Christina has some great tips and instructions for linking up with other participants, so be sure to visit the original blog post for that information.
If any luck is with me, I might have a surprise at the end of this writing adventure. Let’s dig in together, friends.
❤ Michelle
